Simple Happiness

So despite the construction chaos at home, there have been some things making me really happy lately.

1. Homeland

Have you seen this show?  I was slow to jump on the bandwagon but finally after hearing from the 100th person how good it is and after Claire Danes won her 3rd or 4th Emmy in a row for her acting, I thought we'd give it a try.  B and I are hooked.  After watching the first episode I joked with B that we should pull an all-nighter and just get through the first season, but by the end of the second episode I was having a hard time keeping my eyes open. (My typical bedtime has been right around 8:30pm)  I have been forcing myself to pace ourselves, only allowing us to watch 1 or 2 episodes a night to extend the excitement as long as possible.

2. Season tickets to SHN's 2012-2013 Broadway Musical Lineup

When my sister approached me about getting season tickets to the SHN's lineup I was sold.  It was a perfect combination of some of my favorite shows, -'The Lion King', 'Wicked' and 'Jersey Boys', all which I have seen before, and some great new shows, 'Anything Goes' and 'The Book of Mormon'.   Our sister dates have been so fun and have given me something to look forward to each month.  We get to meet up in the city before the show for dinner, get a snack bag from Bristol Farms full of my favorite chocolate covered gummy bears and then walk to the theater usually singing a song or two. I can't wait until next season!

3. Crafting

A few weeks back for my monthly ACC (Alameda Craft Club) gathering we made these adorable pillows.  They are so easy and fun to make I am currently in the process of making more for our outdoor patio and for baby girls room.

4. Baby Girl Clothes

In addition to the bins of clothes one of my girlfriends loaned me, my brother and sister in law stopped by over the weekend and dropped off massive bags full of girls clothes from newborn all the way though 4T.  I am slowly starting the process of going through the bags and organizing the clothes and catch myself giggling or squealing with excitement.  Don't get me wrong, baby boy clothes are cute, but little girl clothes are adorable!  It's inspiring me to get started on cleaning out baby girls room so I can make room for a built in closet and organization system to store and put these cute little pieces on display.

5. Bite Sized S'mores

These ended up in my shopping cart over the weekend and I came straight home, opened the box, followed the instructions and nuked one for 5 seconds and then - pure mike chocolate s'more heaven.
