The house is weeks away from being completed and the end is in sight. When we started this addition, I knew it was going to be intrusive, and messy and LOUD, but when you're in it, it all seems so much more intense. The wall where our old entryway used to be came down last weekend, and we've spent the last few weekends taking shifts with Luke and the dogs trying to keep them separated from the dust, dirt and random nails on the floor (eeeek!) and live in our house while the work continues. We have a lovely white powder film that seems to never go away no matter how much I vacuum or mop the floors and it's definitely been a challenge trying to work from home and take calls with all the hammering, drilling and dog barking taking place. It's going to be so amazing once it's all done, I just really wish we could fast forward through these next few weeks.
Here's a sneak peak at our progress over the last 3 weeks:

Raised floor in the old garage with the framing started for where the new walls will be. This is looking into the guest bedroom.

Walls framed and getting started on the electrical. This is looking down the new hallway into the office.

Our nearly completed laundry room, painted, tiled and with working plumbing. We still need to add in cabinets above the washer and dryer and I will be getting a more suitable rug. :)

This is the old wall connecting our dining room to the old garage. The wall is coming down as I type, so I'll post more pics soon.

The office insulated and with windows looking out over the pool and the garden.
|
The brick in front is almost complete, we have a cement walkway leading up top the front door and the old front door has been knocked out and now faces the street.
They say by March 9th everything will be done...
