4 Months!

Dear Luke,

Happy 4 month birthday. You wake up every morning laughing, chatting away, waiting for us to come swoop you up from your crib for your morning snuggle. You are quite the drooler and always have your fingers, toes or anything I leave within your reach in your mouth. I think your teeth will start to come in soon. You have grown so strong and can lift yourself up when on your tummy and even roll over from your tummy to your back. You love to play and pull on daddy's hair. You love to listen to music, especially the soundtrack from the musical 'The Book of Mormon' and your Aunt Terri and Uncle Brad's lullaby CD. You are sleeping for almost 6 hours straight every night and when you do wake up in the middle of the night you love to nuzzle up to my neck when I rock you back to sleep. You have started to sit up in your bumbo chair all by yourself and love to stand in your bouncer on your tippy toes. You are always talking in vowels - oos, ahs, ees - and you make some very serious facial expressions when you are trying to tell us something important. You are adorable beyond words and I love you all the way to the moon and back.

Love,
Mommy

He Put a Ring On It!

This past weekend my sister got engaged! Her fiance had an elaborate day planned of picnicking on the beach followed by several games of scrabble where he "let her win" and then proposed at Inspiration Point where they went when they first started dating. After a romantic dinner on the beach they headed up to Justin's Aunt and Uncle's house to celebrate with a glass of champagne only to find a surprise party waiting for her with all of her closest friends and family.

Congrats Justin and Kate! Let the wedding planning begin...

Back to Work

Yesterday was my first day back at work. Where did the 3 months go?! It was a tough morning as Luke and I did morning snuggles with tears dripping down my face and then the inevitable drop off at Ana's that had me crying before we even got in the car. Today was a little easier and I know every day will get better, but having him away from me, even just a few miles down the road, I feel like part of my heart is gone and I miss him

Thankfully, the last few days at work have been busy and it's a welcomed distraction. I am trying to stay positive focusing on the perks like being able to use the part of my brain that's been dormant for the last few months, getting paid my full salary, having Luke be socialized with other kids, and appreciating the time I do have with Luke that much more. It's still hard, but I know he's in good hands and he still knows I'm his mama.
