Love is All Around

Happy Valentine's Day! We're keeping it low key tonight with a nice homemade dinner, maybe a movie and some serious snuggles with our favorite little Valentine.

Park Hopping

This past weekend was a little dreary and cold, but we were antsy to get outside and so took Luke to the park for the first time. He was laughing and smiling and flapping his arms up and down with excitement. We had the whole place to ourselves and Luke was a big fan of the swings, and pulling off daddy's sunglasses. There are probably 8 parks all within walking distance of our house and we have only been to one of them... I think we'll need to start doing some local exploring ASAP. We've been so busy the last few months it was nice to get out in our own hood and have some family time. I can't wait for the warmer weather and chasing my man around the park this spring.

Baby Goats

A few weeks back we were up at the ranch in Sebastopol visiting B's parents and celebrating Oma's birthday. While we were there we visited with some family friends who showed us their new baby goats, Hamlet and Juliet. They reminded me very much of when our dogs were puppies, and needless to say, both B and I were in love. The goats have some pretty prime real estate nestled right between a beautiful lavender garden and a vineyard.

Cuddling up to these babies had me dreaming up places in our yard where B could build a goat pen.

The beautiful lavender garden. In the summer it's a sea of purple.

Hamlet loves to play and would butt his head against our hands

Maybe we need to get another puppy.

A New Twist on Braids

As a girl, I used to love wearing my hair in braids - French braids, fish tail braids, Dutch braids and even pig tail braids. I would do anything to have my hair played with and brushed, and as an added bonus, I loved that after sleeping with my hair in braids I would shake my hair out in the morning to wavy hair! As an adult, I always found braids to be more of a way to get my hair out of my face or cover a bad hair day. They seemed childish and not something I could get away with wearing to work. Well, the day of braids is coming back to me now after seeing these beautiful new fashionable takes on my old standard. I think I may need to make an appearance in one of these looks soon.
