B is out of town on a much earned boys golf getaway, the kids are finally asleep, and I just got my second wind, so thought I'd stop by and fill you all in on what's been going on over the last month.
January went something like this...
New Years Day, Mom flew in to stay with the kids and B and I headed to Boston for my company's annual holiday party. We got snowed in at our hotel, drank and ate with good friends, and SLEPT IN three whole days in a row. It's so funny how your priorities shift once you have children. You appreciate the little things so much, like sleeping, and getting to drink wine without the fear of being hung over the next day with two small human beings to care for and adhere to their every whim. We had a great time at the party and it was a really nice treat to get away for a few days together.

A few days after we returned, the stomach flu hit. First Luke went down, then Emma, then B, and lastly me. All within 24 hours of each other. It was miserable but I'll spare you the details.
We all recovered and then Luke came home with a high fever from daycare and stayed home with me for a week with the flu. I was trying to work from home while he was here with me, but who am I kidding, it's impossible to get anything done with a sick toddler wanting and needing your undivided attention every. single. second.
I got to see my sister's band Miner perform at The Battery, a private club in San Francisco, and it was such a fun night. They played for a small audience in "The Library" and had everyone dancing by the end of the show. My youngest sis was also able to attend and it felt so good to be united with both my sisters at the same time. I just love them to pieces and we have the best energy when we're all together. Miner's album comes out later this month and will be available on iTunes, and I just can't wait to see what the rest of this year holds for them. Good things are coming their way!

Luke had his first dentist appointment. Braces will definitely be in his future, but he had no "sugar bugs," and the dentist said his teeth looked great. YAY!
Luke had such a great time, he wanted to stay and hang out and for about a week after keep asking if he could go back to the dentist. I'm sure it was all the stickers, and prizes they gave him, and of course the cool sunglasses he got to where when they had to turn the light on to look at his teeth.
Emma then decided to get croup and had a horrible barking cough for 4 nights, but she was super cute and cuddly which made up for it.
The superbowl happened -but who even cares about the game. It was over after the first quarter anyway. We got to hang out with good friends and have a fun afternoon with lots of kiddos.
There is this large wall in our dining room that has been bugging me with it's barren stare, and I finally made a super cool chalkboard from the frame of an old mirror we were getting rid of, some plywood and chalk paint. It turned out super cute, and really completes the space.
| I made it right before Christmas, and I love how easy it is to change up for any holiday or season. |
| "All you need is Love and a good cup of coffee." My current mantra for all the sleepless nights we've had with sick kiddos. |
And we FINALLY got a new couch! We've been looking for about a year and could never agree on color, fabric, or size until we decided one day to hit up a local furniture store right here in Danville just to look and get ideas, and within 5 minutes we saw it, Luke approved, and we bought it.

And that about wraps it up.
