Kicking off 2013

Well, New Years came and went in a blur around here and I can't believe we're already over a week into 2013.  The New Year brought me some much needed relief with my crazy morning sickness and I am starting to feel a little more human, although still taking my medication religiously.  After a wonderful few weeks resting and relaxing over the holidays, getting back into our normal routine was welcomed and we're enjoying our quiet nights at home.

We started construction just over a month ago on our new addition and I thought I'd give a quick photo update to show you just how fast it's all coming along.  Before we started, I was rigorous with my questioning and planning, making sure I had a very clear idea of the sequential order of each phase and breaking down cost to make sure there were no gaping holes in our budget.  I was really skeptical when our contractor told us they'd be done by the end of March, but low and behold they have actually stayed on track and our new garage (phase 1) is right on time.

Don't be jealous of our new makeshift walkway with exposed insulation and all...
We're getting the roof put on this weekend and then the garage will be weather proof preventing any further weather delays.

Remember when I posted about our new built in book shelves?  Well here they are, painted and put together.  They make SUCH a big difference in the room and it's great to be able to stash Luke's ever growing toy supply and all those cords and wires away from Luke's access.

I hope everyone's year is off to a great start!
